Time lapse in a music video- Guillemots

So, I don't have any inside info on this one so I couldn't tell you what it was made with but I LOVE this video and had to share it. The use of video in the music industry is huge but this video seems relatively low budget. It was filmed in the Highlands of Scotland and many of the places featured are local to my home in Scotland where I grew up. The song is also beautiful so this seemed like a really apt video to use to demonstrate the use of time lapse in a music video.

Please do leave me a comment if you've enjoyed this video. I do promise that I am going to take the blog in a different direction now i've explored time lapse a bit more :-)

  1. Fabulous part of the world :) The time lapse in this video works really well when used to capture the scenery, weather conditions etc. Not convinced it is so good when sued on animals, as it seems to lose the slightly dreamy quality and seem almost frantic.

How fascinating! I did love seeing the changing of the weather and daylight. The music suited the video too.

  4. Cracking to see this part of the world shown in a vague bit of glory. The time lapse seems to add a drama to the weather and the landscape accentuating every tiny movement of nature. Works very well for the water too but I'm with Sooty in that it doesn't seem to be as effective with the animals.

  6. I've just watched this clip again and am loving all of the subtle things that can pass you by even in just the first 45 seconds. There are little wispy clouds that move in time with the 'whispy' bit of whistle at the start... then the shot goes from sunlight to shadow in time with the beats of the music. Then the sun comes out at the exact time that something else is added in with the music- magical! :-)
